Google says, “This site is clean.”

June 16, 2008

I’m happy to report that Google has finally given this site a clean bill of health (despite it being two months since I removed all of the infection! You should no longer see a warning in Google search results associated with this site. HUZZAH!

Twitter

May 21, 2008

It was suggested to me today by Vjesci that I should create a Twitter account for this website. It might be useful for fans to keep track of updates via their mobile phone if they’re not at a computer or subscribing to the RSS. I began using Twitter back in January 2007 and use it mainly with close friends and coworkers. I really love the way it allows you to get to know others and their daily lives better. It’s also another way to let others know when you’ve updated your blog. So I’ll be using Twitter to notify about updates and any other random or tori-related thoughts I’m having.

If you’re interested in following HIMH on Twitter you can do so here.

What is Twitter?

Twitter is an [online] service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

It’s often referred to as micro-blogging (every tweet is 140 characters or less), and you can receive and send using your mobile phone, from your twitter site, or from a twitter client (e.g. twirl, twitterific, etc.)

What I’m using:
Twirl – A desktop twitter client that runs on both Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX and can connect to multiple Twitter accounts. It saves you from having to check/refresh your Twitter page or RSS aggregator and works more like an instant messenger window.

Twitter Tools – A Wordpress plugin that creates an integration between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account. Pull your tweets into your blog and create new tweets on blog posts and from within WordPress.

ATTENTION: THE SITE WAS HACKED, NOW FIXED

April 16, 2008

It came to my attention 2 days ago that this site was hacked somehow and a malware virus was attached to many if not all of the HTML pages. I am doing everything I can to restore a backup of the site to eliminate the malware. In the meantime, if any of you have visited the site since 4/10/08 [using a Windows machine], you must run and antivirus program immediately. I’m am very sorry that this has happened. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

UPDATE 4/17/08 12:13am We’ve been working to restore the site from backups so you might notice some missing directories and files. I believe the hacking was through the Coppermine Photo Gallery, in case anyone out there is using it on their sites. It’s just a suspicion though. Confirmed. I believe it was only HTML/PHP files that were altered to expose visitors to the virus. Images, mp3s, etc, were not altered or infected. It seems that the gallery had a sql injection vulnerability which was exploited. What that means is that every .php and .html file was injected with an iframe code containing a malware virus. I believe the virus targeted Windows users only.

UPDATE 4/17/08 2:52pm The entire site has been successfully restored from a clean backup. Therefore, there should no longer be a threat to visitors. The security hole in the gallery is being patched as we speak. I have also notified Google to do a complete evaluation of the site to assure that it is clean. I will post the results as soon as they are available.

UPDATE 4/18/08 3:00pm There was another breach before the patch was applied. Everything is restored again and clean. The patch was successfully installed, so there should be no further danger of hacking or infecting. I am still waiting on Google to give the site a clean bill of health. Stayed tuned.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS

September 27, 2007

Things have kind of slowed down in the interim between tour legs. Also, there’s been kind of a lack of contributors of high-quality tour mp3s, so that has been a bit of a bummer. So I want to renew the effort and call out to any recorders who would like to share a few of the highlights from the shows at Diagnosed Sounds. We appreciate your time, talent and effort and want to maximize the exposure of the trading community as well as hear some of the fabulous new performances from Tori! Just email me if you’re interested in sharing, Thank You!

In other news, I’ve been quite busy this summer with vacation, travel and a new job and promotion, hooray! I’ve also been cleaning house of my Tori Amos collectibles that now need new homes. So please take a look through my eBay Auctions, if you’re interested — there will be more to come!

DOWNTIME

August 17, 2007

Sorry for the recent downtime and/or ridiculous slowness. My hosting service was experiencing network problems followed by DNS issues which effected this site. All should be well enough now.

BIG WHEEL SCREENSHOTS GET AN UPGRADE

June 15, 2007

big wheel screenshot: santa There are now new, higher-quality screenshots of the official Big Wheel video in the IMAGE GALLERY. As well as some photos from the current tour.

I’ll be on vacation for the next week, so updates are not likely. You may notice some wonkiness still with the new nav in the DISCOGRAPHY and LYRICS sections. Also, I know I’ve promised lyrics and tour mp3s, but things have been a bit crazy busy. But stayed tuned and I’ll be addressing them upon my return.
