LYRICS

standin' on a corner in winslow arizona
and i'm quite sure i'm in the wrong song
2 girls 65 got a piece tied up in the
back seat
"honey we're recovering christians"

in the springtime of his voodoo
he was going to show me spring

and right there for a minute
i knew you so well

got an angry snatch
girls you know what i mean
when swivelin that hip doesn't do the trick
me pureed sanitarily mr sulu
warp speed
warp speed
warp speed
in the springtime of his voodoo

every road leads back to my door
every road i will follow
every road leads back to my door
got all your crosses loaded

and i know she's not that
foxy
boys
i said i know she's not that
foxy but
you gotta owe something sometimes
you gotta owe
when you're your momma's sunshine
you've got to give something sometimes
when you're the sweetest cherry
in an apple pie
i need some voodoo on these prunes
in the springtime of his voodoo
he was going to show me spring

Boys For Pele
US In The Springtime of His Voodoo single

COMMENTS

The In The Springtime Of His Voodoo mixes, which appear on the US In The Springtime of His Voodoo single, were produced by Vinnie Vero and Steve Donato, the former having previously worked with Gloria Estafan and Deep Forest.

"Which leads us into Voodoo... the key for me here is he was going to show me spring. Going to... and so much of my life has been about going to. Instead of what is happening now, [it's] what are we going to? Not what are we really giving to each other now. What am I promising him? That whole idea of looking to this, the idea that somebody else carries the voodoo, instead of becoming part of the voodoo and accessing it yourself. That's runs through the whole thing."
-- Tori; B Side, 05/96

I: Many of your fans were divided over the Boys for Pele remixes such as Professional Widow and In the Springtime of his Voodoo. How involved are you in these re-workings?
T: I dont get involved too much in it. Obviously the masters dont go out without my permission, but I think that if youre going to have variations on a theme that you have to let it roll. And sometimes you think that somebody does a mix that makes you chuckle, and sometimes you dont. So, there you go.
