STRANGE LITTLE GIRL was the first and only video shot from the album Strange Little Girls. The video was directed by David Slade. David Slade was nominated for "Best Director" (Alternative Category) at the 2002 MVPA (Music Video Production Association) Awards.
The video shows large black wolf chasing after a little dark-haired girl in a black dress through tall grass. Interchanging scenes between the wolf tracking the girl and a long-red-haired Tori also in the grass suggests that this Tori is also the wolf. As the little girl runs from the predator, she morphs into an older Tori-version of herself, complete with the short black hair and dress. This Tori runs into an old farmhouse and closes the door before the wolf catches up. The wolf grows larger as it approaches the house. She looks through the keyhole and sees the wolf-Tori and the wolf in two separate events. The girl without the house morphs back into the little girl version and then grows as large as the house while inside, filling it. Simultaneously, the wolf seems to grow smaller. The little girl reverts back into the older one and picks up the wolf into her hand as the wolf is now small enough to run underneath the door of the house. She puts the wolf into an old matchbox, closes it and reopens it to reveal the wolf-Tori. The black-haired Tori looks down at the wolf-Tori and smiles as if she had nothing to fear after all.
"Uh video was really fun to make mainly because when you work with children on the set, umm... being a mom now, you just, you have this appreciation for what children bring to a movie set. and this little girl in this video Ellie, she just inspired everybody to try and remember what it was like to be little and the things you were afraid of and the things that you know, you keep secret that you don't tell anybody, but, that may chase you till you're thirty years old because of those things that happened. and this is really what the video is, things that you've been afraid of that chase you and then when you look at them, then they get smaller. yeah."

A detail that I (the webmaster), personally, thought was interesting was that Tori made reference to a "wolf at the door" in her comments about the Spark video which is possibly something that influenced the concept for the Strange Little Girl video: "When the wolf is at your door, there is no insurance no distracting him/her. No angel can or has the power to break Universal law, not with this wolf at my door." --Tori, "Tori Stories, her take on the videos" promo booklet
The Strange Little Girl video has not been released in any collectible form.
